The IPL Player Auction for the upcoming edition in 2023 is just hours away, and with several eye-catching names in the auction pool, Former Indian cricketer and one of the most prolific batters in the history of the IPL, Suresh Raina named the players to watch out for in the auction. While the English all-rounder duo of Ben Stokes and Sam Curran are likely to attract hefty bids, Raina quirked to keep an eye on Ireland's young fast-bowling sensation Joshua Little.

Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina who joined the expert's panel for this year's IPL auction has named his pick for the event, with 405 players set to go under the hammer on 23rd December. Nicknamed Mr. IPL, Raina announced his retirement from all formats of the game earlier this year, including domestic cricket.

The southpaw revealed the players he thought were going to make the headlines and quite expectedly, uttered the name of World Cup winners Ben Stokes and Sam Curran in his first pick. While Stokes was the hero for Jos Buttler's side in the final, Curran had an exceptional tournament with the ball. While the English duo are the most obvious choice ahead of the auction, Raina also put forward the name of 23-year-old Irishman Joshua Little, who has taken the cricketing world by storm this year.

“Sam Curran has done well for England as well as for Chennai Super Kings and there is Ben Stokes who has led England well. So having a top all-rounder in your team can change the movement of the game. Watch out for Joshua Little from Ireland. He has done really well in the World Cup just now, and I just played with him," Raina said in a conversation with JioCinema.

Suresh Raina expects attractive bids for Jaydev Unadkat and N Jagadeesan

Sharing his views on the Indian players who are likely to initiate a bidding war on December 23 in Kochi, the former Indian batting ace picked Jaydev Unadkat and N Jagadeesan. Unadkat has been in terrific form in the domestic circuit and was even called up to the national team for the Bangladesh series as a replacement.

"Then there is Jaydev Unadkat who just won the Vijay Hazare Trophy and has a lot of experience in the IPL. N Jagadeesan has a very good cricketing brain, and he bats so deep, is a very smart, calculative batsman. He has done really well for Tamil Nadu, watch out for him," the southpaw added.
