New Zealand and the Netherlands are locking horns in Match 6 of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. Netherlands captain Scott Edwards won the toss and once again elected to bowl first. The decision wasn’t vindicated by the bowlers as New Zealand posted a massive score of 322/7 in their allotted 50 overs. Will Young (70 off 80), Rachin Ravindra (51 off 51) and Tom Latham (53 off 46) all scored half-centuries.
During the first innings, a hilarious moment was also witnessed as Paul van Meekeren thanked Daryl Mitchell for not hitting him during the 39th over of the innings. On the second ball of the over, Mitchell hit Van Meekeren straight down the ground but the ball ended up hitting the stumps at the non-striker’s end.

The ball was almost about to hit the Dutch bowler but he got out of the line at the very last moment. After he successfully evaded the bowl, Van Meekeren was spotted bowing down to Mitchell with his hands joined to thank the Kiwi batter for not hitting him.
