The third ODI between the India Women and the West Indies Women began with the visitors' top order struggling against the pace and swing of Renuka Singh Thakur in the powerplay and failing to get a good start in the match being played at the newly-built Kotambi Stadium, Vadodara.

The West Indies Women have already lost the series against India Women in the three-match ODI series and were set to play this last and final encounter for pride. Their batting struggled heavily in the previous couple of games, and this was the perfect chance for them to brush some muscles since they had little to no pressure batting first.

Albeit, it was another batting failure for them as they lost their best batters in the form of Hayley Matthews (0 off 2) and Deandra Dottin (5 off 12) who failed to trouble the scorers yet again as they failed to counter the swing of Renuka Thakur.

The delivery to the Windies skipper was one of the best deliveries of the match as the ball swung in out of nowhere and Matthews was left stuck in her crease. Matthews was dismissed for a duck for the second time in the series, and this time she was able to survive only one delivery as she got the Jaffa in the second.

Though Matthews did score a hundred in the second ODI, this was still not the best series for her as where she finished the series with an average of 35.33. Though she is still the highest run scorer for the visitors, she will still not want to remember some of her dismissals, especially against Renuka who dismissed her for the second time in the series.

Speaking of the pacer's performance, the Shimla-born currently has figures of 3/25 in the nine overs at the time of writing. She is proving to be one of the premier pacers for the hosts, especially with the new ball, and will look to continue her good performance in the future as well. Notably, she is also the highest wicket-taker in the series currently with 9 wickets so far, which included a fifer in the series opener.
