India women put in an excellent show against Pakistan women in the ongoing Women’s T20 World Cup. The Women in Blue did not get off to the best of starts to their campaign, as they were defeated by New Zealand in their first game of the season. However, the side pulled off an incredible comeback and defeated archrivals Pakistan in the subsequent game.

India limited Pakistan to a score of 105 runs, which was followed by the Women in Blue chasing down the total in 18.5 overs, winning the game by six wickets. After the game, India women’s fielding coach Munish Bali heaped praise on the players for their performances.

However, it was Richa Ghosh who won the customary ‘Fielder of the Match’ medal from Bali for her excellent glovework behind the stumps. “Wicketkeeping of Richa Ghosh was excellent—one stumping and one extraordinary catch. Well done,” Bali said.

The medal was given to Richa after the players had boarded the team bus, and the youngster also shared her thoughts on the same. “I spoke to sir (Munish Bali) after what happened in the last match. We practiced a lot, especially high catches. Sir suggested that I should forget about the missed catch and start afresh. I think it actually worked for me,” Richa said.
