Mumbai’s star all-rounder Suryansh Shedge finished the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy quarter-finals against Vidarbha with a massive six that cleared the ground. The encounter was a high-scoring thriller with both teams fighting hard for a place in the semi-finals. The quarter-finals of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy(SMAT) were conducted on December 11 in Bengaluru, where Mumbai and Delhi emerged victorious to qualify for the next round.

The Mumbai-Vidarbha clash saw the latter pile up 221/6 on the board with the help of quick half-centuries from Atharva Taide (66 off 41) and Apoorv Wankhede (51 off 33) and Shubham Dubey's cameo of 43 off 19. However, the powerful Mumbai batting lineup was good enough to chase down the total thanks to Ajinkya Rahane's 45-ball 84, which included 10 fours and three sixes.

Prithvi Shaw also found some rhythm as he smashed 49 off just 26 balls with five fours and four sixes while Shivam Dube (unbeaten 37 off 22) and Suryansh Shedge (unbeaten 36 off 12) provided the finishing touches to make Mumbai win by six wickets with four balls to spare. Meanwhile, one of the most iconic moments of the match was Mumbai all-rounder Shedge's massive strike over long-on as he sent the ball out of the stadium.
