South Africa reached the World Test Championship 2025 semi-finals after they beat Pakistan in the first Test on December 29. They were equally dreadful in the second Test as they won the game by 10 wickets and the series by 2-0. The linchpin of their second win in Cape Town was star pacer, Kagiso Rabada as he picked six wickets in the game.

Rabada picked eight wickets across two games and his companion in bowling, Marco Jansen came out with 10 scalps. The Proteas will face Australia in the WTC 2025 final in June and Rabada has exuded confidence in the team to come good against the defending champions. He also highlighted the importance of Test cricket within the South Africa team over the years to validate their mindset.

"It's actually quite some distance away, but a big occasion like the World Test Championship Final gets you up for it. South Africa versus Australia has always been an intense rivalry because we play cricket quite similarly. We play hard - and they're going to come hard at us, and we know that. But we also know how to beat them,” Rabada said to SuperSport.

"(Test cricket is) our best format that we've been playing right now. When you look at South African cricket and all our legends, they've all been great Test cricketers. The world's best players are Test cricketers, and this series against Pakistan has been a wonderful advertisement for Test cricket, especially in South Africa,” he added.
