Mumbai Indians (MI) batting coach Kieron Pollard praised the opening batter Rohit Sharma for his back-to-back 70s in the IPL 2025. Struggling with his form since the start of the season, the former captain slammed the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), helping MI solidify their stance in the playoffs' race.

In the first six innings, he had scored just 82 runs, however, Pollard showed complete confidence in Rohit and knew from the start of the IPL that the right-handed batter would get back in form, and a couple of low scores don't matter much.

Notably, Rohit also missed a game due to injury. However, he made a stunning comeback in the IPL and is back in form, which is good news for MI. During his recent conversation, the former Caribbean all-rounder said they always believed in the ace batter to have a return to form despite a few sedated knocks.

"For us, we always had that belief that he is going to come good. There are dips. There is low confidence. But for someone who has played this sport for a long time, you have these moments. Sometimes you just need that extra support from people. Now we are singing his praises. We are all very happy in the Mumbai dressing room. We were happy at the start as well, knowing that it is going to happen, and long may it continue," he was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.

Pollard praises skipper Hardik Pandya ahead of LSG tie

Furthermore, the batting coach also spoke about captain Hardik Pandya and how he has faced a lot of challenges in his life, on and off the field, and yet he doesn't give up, while thriving for success all the time. Despite a slow start, the Mumbai Indians (MI) have returned to winning ways in the tournament under Pandya's captaincy. He has shown an all-around performance in most games, which according to Pollard speaks volumes about him and his skills.

"It is great to see a human being that has been challenged in different facets of not only cricket but of life come out and continue to show what cricket and what winning means to him," added Pollard.
