Team India is all set to take on Bangladesh in a multi-format series. Both sides will lock horns in the first Test of the series at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai from September 19. Furthermore, the second Test will be played in Kanpur from September 27.

After the two-game Test series, both sides will take on each other in a three-game T20I series to conclude the tour. Ahead of the series, Bangladesh’s head coach, Chandika Hathurusingha, came forward and talked about the upcoming series.

He also revealed how he is relishing the challenge of facing the Indian team, and how the true test of one’s potential is in facing the best of the very best.

"We are encouraged by playing the best team in the world, and coming to India and playing against them is the best challenge you get nowadays. Playing against the best always gives you the perception of where you stand, and as sportspersons, we always look forward to it," Hathurusingha said in the pre-match press conference.

All give us a lot of belief for this series: Hathurusingha

Hathurusingha also talked about Bangladesh’s recent series win against Pakistan. It is worth noting that Bangladesh defeated Pakistan in a two-game Test series in their backyard, and the head coach thinks that the side could take their confidence from the series into the India tour.

"It's (win against Pakistan) certainly given us a lot of confidence coming into this series. Keeping the outcome aside, the way we played the series and we handled certain situations, like lagging and coming back, and the people who contributed to it — all give us a lot of belief for this series. This is probably the most rounded team produced by Bangladesh. We have covered a lot of bases and have got a lot of fast bowlers," he said.

Bangladesh’s squad is set to consist of eight specialist batters, six bowlers, and two all-rounders, and the side will hope to put in their best showing against the Indian team.
