The Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia is poised at 1-1 with the third Test scheduled to commence from December 14 at The Gabba in Brisbane. Ahead of the impending game, the images of the pitch are doing rounds on the internet and the deck promises pace and bounce for the bowler and struggle for the batters.

The first Test in Perth had a similar outcome as pace and bounce were evident for almost two days before the pitch became conducive to the batters. Gabba curator David Sandurski has said that a traditional Gabba wicket is on the cards. He also added that, despite the weather playing its role to deteriorate the pitch the process to maintain its deck live is followed.

"Different times of year definitely makes it different, it can be a slightly different pitch. Pitches later in the season might have a bit more wear and tear while ones early in the season usually are a bit fresher and might have a bit more in them,” said Sandurski as quoted by cricket.com.au.

"Generally speaking, we still prepare the pitch the exact same way every time to try and get the same good carry, pace and bounce that the Gabba is known for. We are just trying to make a traditional Gabba wicket like we do each year,” he added.

Scott Boland was called up for the second Test in Adelaide as pacer Josh Hazlewood had pulled his hamstring. The pace was seen practicing with the Australian team ahead of the third Test and is likely to feature in the playing XI.
