India’s ruthless batting in the third T20I at the Uppal Stadium in Hyderabad on October 12 left Bangladesh gasping for breath. The visitors had no answer to Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav’s blitzkrieg as the duo stitched a 173-run stand for the second wicket consuming just 70 balls. As a result, India posted 297 runs, the highest total by any Test-playing nation in T20Is.

Every Bangladesh bowler conceded runs at an excess of 11 runs per over. Not only the bowling the Bangla Tigers were sloppy in the field, dropping some crucial chances and misfields at regular intervals. Bangladesh batter, Towhid Hridoy admitted that the team requires to adapt to the pitches of Hyderabad sorts and also acknowledged that the team lacked in every department.

"We lacked in all departments. One day the batting was good but the bowling wasn't, and when the bowling was good, the batting wasn't. We don't usually play on wickets like this. I'm not making excuses, but the more we play on such wickets, the better we'll get. Overall, we have a lot of room for improvement. We have a lot to learn from this series. Hopefully, we will be able to learn from it,” Hridoy said as quoted by Cricbuzz.

Most of our players can't read the wicket properly: Hridoy

Bangladesh came into bat and lost their first wicket on the first ball. They managed just 59 runs in the powerplay against India’s 82. But the batters failed to capitalise on the flat wicket and Hridoy argued that their skills on such wickets are hindered by abstaining from playing on such wickets back home. Bangladesh were bundled for 164, leaving India with a massive 133-run victory.

"I wouldn't say we're too far behind. We're not this bad as a side. It's more about how we can perform on flat wickets.. Most of our players can't read the wicket properly. We mostly play in Mirpur. If we play in Chattogram, we know what the wicket will be like, but in other places, the wicket varies each day. If we keep playing on good wickets, we will improve day by day. It won't happen overnight. India can be an example for us-how to play on flat wickets with good planning. We need to improve in all departments,” he added.
