‘We will accept whatever happens’ - Haris Rauf not worried about Super 8 qualification and calculations
Pakistan to play their final league game against Ireland on June 16.
With a win over Canada in their previous match, Pakistan are once again optimistic about their chances of making it to the Super 8 of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. They suffered close defeats at the hands of USA and India, which complicated their possibility, but a win in the latest match shot up their chances. However, there are still a lot of things that need to go the Babar Azam-led side's way.
Pakistan will have to beat Ireland in their final league game, while the Americans need to lose their last match against the same opponent. The net run rate (NRR) will come into the equation in that case and the team with better NRR will progress. However, ahead of playing against the Irishmen, Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf cleared that the team isn’t much worried about qualifications and calculations and wants to play good cricket.

“No, no, nothing like that going on in our mind. We're focusing only on our match and how to play. If we win our match, then we will accept whatever happens,” Rauf said in the post-match press conference as quoted by India Today.
“Yes, you know that winning is so important. You have to set a tone in any tournament, we won the match, our focus is on our games, and hopefully, we win the next match. And then whatever happens, if we qualify, then God willing, we will qualify, and we will play good cricket in the future,” he added.

The Babar Azam-led side will play their final group game on June 16 at Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill, Florida. As per reports, the weather doesn’t look good and there’s a massive possibility of the match being called off due to rain. Sri Lanka’s game against Nepal was abandoned due to rain and in case Pakistan’s game against Ireland gets called off, the Men in Green will be out of the Super 8. India and USA will progress in that case.
