Co-hosts for the mega-event scheduled to take place in June 2024, the West Indies, announced their 15-member squad for the T20 World Cup 2024.

As for the position of captaincy, Rovman Powell will be at the helm, leading the two-time world champions in the upcoming marquee tournament. The 30-year-old will be hoping to contribute both as a player and a captain, and the West Indies would want to make a pressing statement to the world after they failed to qualify for the Super-12 of the 2022 edition, losing two out of their three group-stage games to Scotland and Ireland in one of the biggest upsets in the storied history of the tournament.

The top-order will comprise of Johnson Charles, Brandon King, and Shai Hope, with Charles being the most experienced out of the lot, and the latter two being quite handy anchors.

One of the most dangerous and potent middle orders in the tournament, the likes of Nicholas Pooran, Andre Russell, Shimron Hetmyer, the skipper himself, Jason Holder, Sherfane Rutherford, and Romario Shepherd, pose to serve a severe threat to oppositions, with most of the aforementioned middle-order players playing an integral role for their respective franchises in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League.

Akeal Hossain and Gudakesh Motie, both left-arm orthodox, represent the spin-bowling department. Shamar Joseph, who impressed one-and-all with his sublime pyrotechnics against the mighty Aussies Down Under earlier this year, earned his maiden call-up to a World Cup side. The skilled Guyanese will pair up with vice-captain, Alzarri Joseph, to forge the core of the pace-bowling battery for the Men in Maroon.
