After winning six matches on the trot, Royal Challengers Bengaluru were hopeful of defeating Rajasthan Royals in the Eliminator of the ongoing IPL 2024 and making it to the Qualifier 2. However, the Sanju Samson-led side had the last laugh at the Narendra Modi Stadium, as they defeated the Faf du Plesssis-led side by four wickets and with that, RCB’s hunt for their maiden IPL trophy continues.
Notably, in a must-win game against Chennai Super Kings, RCB performed exceptionally well and qualified for the playoffs, while the Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side ended the season on a disappointing note. Meanwhile, after the match, CSK fans complained of hooliganism against RCB fans, which was trending on X (formerly Twitter) at one point. Keeping that in mind, former India cricketer Kris Srikkanth made a blunt statement saying that RCB fans should have remained shut and shouldn’t have posted unnecessary videos after beating CSK.

The 64-year-old added that the franchise and the fans were showing off after beating CSK and believes that played a role in them losing to RR in the Eliminator.
“In life when you are doing well keep your mouth shut and keep going, when you make noise out of something you are doing you cannot do that work. They were posting unnecessary videos and showing off too much (after the win against CSK). That's why Ashwin came and destroyed them, that's why in cricket you need to shut your mouth and play,” Srikkanth on his YouTube channel.
If you played poorly then take the criticism: Kris Srikkanth
Srikkanth asked RCB also to accept the criticism as they did the applause. He noted that the team started celebrating six wins on the trots and showed aggression which was not necessary.

“If you played well, congrats, if you played poorly then take the criticism but you should never open your mouth and show aggression. CSK and Mumbai have both come from nowhere and won titles. These guys won six matches and as soon as they qualified they got knocked out,” he added.
