Legendary Indian skipper MS Dhoni recently shared insights into his relationship with the batting superstar, Virat Kohli, opening about their bond both on and off the field.

The legendary wicketkeeper-batter, who led India to two World Cup victories, has always been known for his calm demeanor and strategic brilliance. Kohli, on the other hand, emerged under Dhoni's captaincy to become one of the greatest batters of all time.

Their journey together spans over a decade, filled with memorable partnerships and shared victories. Dhoni spoke about the deep respect and admiration he holds for Kohli.

"We have been colleagues who played for India for a very long time. He (Kohli) has been amongst the best when it comes to world cricket. It is not like we meet very often, but whenever we get a chance, we make sure that we go on the side and chat for some time. We will talk about what is going on, so that is our relationship," said Dhoni at an event.

Recalling their on-field chemistry, Dhoni remembered about their middle-order partnerships. Dhoni had fun batting with Kohli as they ran a lot of twos and threes in the game.

"And the fact that I could bat a lot with him during the middle overs was a lot of fun because we used to take a lot of twos and threes in the game, so it has always been fun," he added.

Kohli played a crucial role in India's T20 World Cup 2024 victory, scoring a match-winning 76 in the final against South Africa. This victory added another feather to Kohli's cap, making him only the second cricketer after Dhoni to win all three ICC white-ball trophies.
