Delhi and Railways tie during the round seven of the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 gained enough hype owing to Virat Kohli's return to the tournament after twelve long years. His comeback, though, wasn't a rosy one, as the star batter was dismissed very cheaply in the first innings on Day 2. The bowler to get the better of Kohli was right-arm pacer Himanshu Sangwan from Railways.

Sangwan had been hit for an authoritative straight drive by Kohli on the third ball of Delhi's 28th over, and the moment seemed just right as fans thought Kohli has well and truly arrived. However, on the very next ball, Sangwan delivered an absolute pearler to shatter through the defence of the seasoned campaigner.

Sangwan was born in 1995 in Delhi's Najafgarh, the same locality which also was home to former veteran batter Virender Sehwag. The right-arm pacer played age group Under-19 cricket for Delhi, however, his First Class career saw him switch to Railways, and has found a new home in the side.

The 29-year-old has played 23 First Class matches in his career thus far, scalping 77 wickets at an astonishing average of 19.92. He has a total of six four-wicket hauls, coupled with a trio of five-wicket haul. He has a best bowling figure of 7 for 81.

His numbers in the white-ball format aren't great, as he has 17 List A fixtures under his belt to bag 21 wickets, whereas he has only five wickets in seven 20-over matches in his career so far. His best performance with the white ball came with a 4 wickets while giving away 44 runs.
