IPL provides a perfect opportunity for all the best players across the globe to prove their mettle in the world’s toughest T20 league. Even the rising talents especially uncapped players also look to make the most of this opportunity and strive to attain excellence in this tournament.

A few of the Indian domestic uncapped talents found takers in the ongoing IPL 2023 mini-auction and youngster Nishant Sindhu also happened to be one of them. The budding cricketer has been roped in by the Chennai Super Kings for INR 60 lakh. He had set his original base price at INR 20 lakh.

Without further ado, here’s a look at Nishant Sindhu who could well emerge as the next big thing in Indian cricket going forward.

Nishant Sindhu was a member of India’s U19 World Cup-winning squad

When the 18-year-old’s name was announced at the IPL 2023 auction, KKR and CSK expressed interest in him before the four-time champions successfully closed the deal spending an additional INR 40 lakh for what was his original price.

Nishant Sindhu was one of India’s important members of the ICC U19 World Cup 2022 earlier this year where the Boys in Blue beat England to lift their record fifth U19 trophy. Nishant had scored a crucial half-century in the final that saw India losing wickets in a tricky chase.

The Rohtak cricketer’s career started in 2017 in the U14 Dhruv Pandove Trophy that was held in Patiala where he finished with 290 runs and 24 scalps for Haryana. He was then selected for the U16 Vijay Merchant Trophy and finished as the top-scorer of the competition with 122 runs.

The 18-year-old was a member of Haryana’s victorious Vijay Merchant Trophy 2019 squad. Sindhu earned his well-deserved U19 ODI cap in December last year. Prior to that, he had an outstanding U19 Vinoo Mankad Trophy tournament as he proved his mettle with his excellent all-round brilliance scoring 299 runs and bagging 12 scalps for Haryana.
