Former India cricketer Virender Sehwag has recently captured headlines after there were reports of him heading towards a divorce from his wife, Aarti Ahlawat, after 20 years of marriage. According to reports, the couple have been living separately for over a year, and this has sparked speculations about their marriage.

Speaking of Sehwag’s wife, Aarti Ahlawat has made quite a name for herself as a businesswoman. She is the director of four companies, including Eventura Creations Private Limited, AVS Healthcare Private Limited, ASV Event Management Private Limited, and Smgk Agro Impex Private Limited.

It is worth noting that Sehwag and Aarti’s love story began in their childhood, the two met when Sehwag was just seven and Aarti was five. By the time the former batter turned 21, he had proposed to Aarti. The couple tied the knot in 2004. They also welcomed their first son Aryavir, in 2007, and their second son, Vedant, was born in 2010.

It was in recent months that speculations over a divorce between Sehwag and his wife emerged. The reports stated that one of their sons reportedly resides with Virender, while the other lives with Aarti. However, the duo is yet to provide an official comment on the same.

Widely revered as one of the best batters of his generation, Virender Sehwag revolutionised Indian cricket with his aggressive style of play. With 374 matches played for India across formats, Sehwag managed to amass 17,253 runs to his name.

His performances in the ODI World Cup 2011, which India went on to win were influential as well. He also has 394 runs in T20Is with two half-centuries and was a part of India’s 2007 T20 World Cup victory as well. The batter announced his retirement in October 2015, establishing himself as one of the greatest openers of his generation.
