Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are about to take on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Match 15 of the Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024) at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. RCB captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and elected to bowl first after losing the previous game at the venue against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Both teams made one change to their playing XI as RCB brought in Reece Topley in place of Alzarri Joseph.
Notably, the right-arm speedster didn’t have a memorable outing in the first three games of the season as he has leaked runs at an economy of 11.89. Joseph has bowled 9.4 overs in the season so far and leaked 115 runs while picking just one wicket.

He’s been replaced with left-arm Reece Topley who played just one game for RCB in the previous season and was later ruled out due to injury. On the other hand, in LSG, left-arm seamer Mohsin Khan was ruled out due to a sore back. The 25-year-old has picked three wickets in the season so far at an average of 26.33 and leaked runs at an economy of 9.87.
Khan picked up 2/34 in the previous game against Punjab Kings (PBKS) which included wickets of Shikhar Dhawan and Sam Curran. He will be replaced by right-arm seamer Yash Thakur who played the first game of the season against Rajasthan Royals where he leaked 43 runs from three overs.
RCB have lost two out of their three matches
In his IPL career, Thakur has 13 wickets from ten matches at an average of 25.54 and an economy of 9.53 with one four-fer to his name. Notably, Lucknow began their campaign with a 20-run loss against Rajasthan Royals but made a brilliant comeback with a 21-run win over Punjab Kings (PBKS) in their next fixture.

On the other hand, RCB’s campaign also began with a six-wicket loss against the southern rivals Chennai Super Kings (CSK) before they made a comeback by beating Punjab Kings by six wickets in the next fixture. However, their campaign once again got off track with a crushing seven-wicket defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders in the previous fixture. Hence, the Faf du Plessis-led side will be desperate to bounce back to winning ways in the upcoming fixture.
