Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are about to take on Sunrises Hyderabad (SRH) in Match 30 of the Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024) at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. The home captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and invited SRH to bat first. Coming into the game on the back of four consecutive losses, RCB made a couple of changes to their Playing XI.

The RCB management decided to rest their big gun Glenn Maxwell who’s had a disastrous season with the bat so far. The all-rounder has just scored 32 runs from six innings. However, with the ball, he’s the joint second-highest wicket-taker for his side with four wickets to his name from four innings at an average of 19 and an economy of 8.44.

Maxwell has been replaced by the 23-year-old youngster Saurav Chauhan who’s played two matches in the season scoring 18 runs. Apart from him, RCB also made another massive change as they benched their star seamer Mohammed Siraj.

The 30-year-old has also had a forgettable season picking just four wickets from six matches at an average of 57.25 and an economy of 10.40. He has been replaced by Kiwi seamer Lockie Ferguson who will be playing his first game of the season. RCB management also benched seamer Akash Deep from their previous fixture who leaked 55 runs in 3.3 overs against Mumbai Indians (MI) and brought in Yash Dayal in his place.

Dayal started the season well registering figures of 1/23 against Punjab Kings but was expensive in the remaining games. The 26-year-old has picked five wickets from five matches in the season so far at an average of 31.60 and an economy of 8.31.
