Why are Kane Williamson, Nandre Burger and David Miller not playing IPL 2024 Match 24 between RR vs GT?

Rajasthan Royals (RR) are about to take on Gujarat Titans (GT) in Match 24 of the Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024) at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill won the toss and elected to bowl first after rain delayed the proceedings at the venue Coming into the game having faced back of back-to-back losses, GT were forced to make a couple of changes to their playing XI.

The GT management decided to bench their star batter Kane Williamson who has failed to fire in the season so far. The New Zealand cricketer has scored just 27 runs from two innings in the season so far. Williamson has been replaced by the wicketkeeper batter Matthew Wade who will play the first game of the season.

Apart from him, GT also brought in Abhinav Manohar in the playing XI by pushing BS Sharath into Impact Substitutes. The 29-year-old played a few good cameos for his side batting at a strike rate of 137.34. Meanwhile, Gujarat continued to miss the services of their star batter David Miller who’s battling a sore hamstring.

On the other hand, Rajasthan also made one change to their playing XI by resting the left-arm seamer Nandre Burger. The South African fast bowler is the second-highest wicket-taker for his side so far in the season with six wickets to his name from four innings at an average of 20.66 and an economy of 8.85. Burger has been replaced with right-arm seamer Kuldeep Sen who will be playing the first game of the season.
