Delhi Capitals (DC) are about to take on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Match 13 of the Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024) on Sunday, March 31 at Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam. Delhi skipper Rishabh Pant won the toss and elected to bat first on a fresh surface at the venue. After facing consecutive losses in the first two games of the season, DC made a couple of changes to their playing XI.
Left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav, who had a good outing in the first two matches of the season, had to be benched due to a niggle. Kuldeep registered figures of 2/20 in the opening game against Punjab Kings and later picked up 1/41 in the next game against Rajasthan Royals.

On the other hand, seamer Ishant Sharma regained his fitness after twisting his ankle while fielding in the opening game of the season and replaced Ricky Bhui in the Playing XI. Bhui had disappointing outings in the first two games having scores of 3 (7) and 0 (2) in the first two games and hence had to be dropped to make way for Ishant
Before getting injured against Punjab, Ishant dismissed Shikhar Dhawan (22 off 16) and also inflicted a run-out of Jonny Bairstow in the same over. Apart from him, opening batter Prithvi Shaw was also included in the XI after not being picked in the first two games of the season. Notably, in the absence of Shaw, DC began their innings with the opening duo of Mitchell Marsh and David Warner.
