Delhi Capitals (DC) are about to take on Gujarat Titans (GT) in Match 40 of the Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024). At the toss, Gujarat captain Shubman Gill called it correctly and elected to bowl first. Coming into the game on the back of a 67-run loss against Sunrisers Hyderabad in their previous fixture, Delhi made a couple of changes to their playing XI.
The DC team management benched their star opener David Warner who hasn’t had a memorable season with the bat so far. The southpaw has scored 167 runs from seven innings at an average of 23.85 and a strike rate of 135.77. Warner’s only half-century of the season came during the third fixture of his side against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) where he scored 52 (35).

The opening batter has been replaced by Shai Hope who’s scored 63 runs from three innings at an average of 31.50 and a strike rate of 140. On the other hand, they moved Lalit Yadav into impact substitutes who was included in the playing XI in the previous fixture. On the other hand, Gujarat didn’t make any changes to their playing XI coming into the game after winning the last fixture against Punjab Kings.
