Kolkata Knight Riders took on Mumbai Indians in Match 51 of the Indian Premier League 2024 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on May 3. MI won the toss and opted to bowl first on a pitch termed as two-paced as per pitch reports. There was a lone change in the MI squad as Hardik Pandya announced Naman Dhir replacing Mohammad Nabi. The move came in light of adding batting depth to the MI.
On the other hand, KKR captain Shreyas Iyer mentioned there could be a dew factor in the game. But he was pretty happy with setting the target. Having said that, KKR went unchanged for the MI game. MI are in desperate need of a victory as they are reeling at the ninth spot in the points table. On the other hand, KKR are quite settled at the third spot and will look to solidify their play off spot.
“We will bowl. It's always about playing for pride, it looks quite tough for us but at the same time, we want to play good cricket, feels good to be back home. Looks like a good track, it's a fresh wicket so thought that bowling first will be good. Only one change, Naman Dhir comes in place of Nabi,” said Pandya at the toss.

“It's always about doing the small things well, obviously the dew is a factor but we have to keep that out of mind. The message is clear, each one of them knows their role and responsibility. Batting first we are going with the same team,” said Iyer at the toss.
