Why Vijayakanth Viyaskanth is not playing IPL 2024 Qualifier 2 between SRH and RR?

Sunrisers Hyderabad take on Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier 2 of the Indian Premier League 2024 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on May 24. RR won the toss and opted to bowl first. Sanju Samson quipped that they were going with the same tea. On the other hand, SRH came up with two major changes to their playing XI.

SRH brought in Jaydev Unadkat in place of Vijayakanth Viyaskanth who was expensive in his last outing. They even fielded Aiden Markram for the crucial clash by replacing Shahbaz Ahmed in the Impact substitutes list. Shahbaz has been contributing minimal when it comes to batting down the order but he has been trusted over Washington Sunder again and again.

“That's fine, we would have bowled. The guys will be aggressive, it's not going to work every time, we are going to lose wickets sometimes. We were well below our best a couple of days ago. Another chance tonight, much of the same. (Bowling) It's an ongoing discussion, this ground is a little bit bigger. We've got Unadkat coming back in the team as well. Aiden Markram comes in,” said Cummins at the toss.

“We would like to bowl first looking at the conditions and what Chepauk offers in the second half. We are trying our best to recover well, the doctors and the physios are doing a great job. We are feeling much better today. We played around 70% of our potential with our batting and still we managed to cross the line. There were some learnings. We'd like to be better. Each and every game, each and every venue, the dimensions of the ground change, the climate changes. We are well experienced and well equipped to prepare accordingly. We are looking forward to this game. Same line-up” said Samson at the toss.
