India have not yet provided a green signal with regard to their travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has left the decision on Indian government to decide their participation in the event in neighbouring country. As Pakistan is bracing to host an ICC event for the first time since 1996, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman, Mohsin Naqvi has assured Indian fans of a feasible experience to watch live games in the country.

It is worth noting that, there are immense restrictions on citizens from either side of the border on travelling to both countries. Majority of Pakistan fans were not allowed to witness World Cup 2023 held in India due to security reasons. Contrarily, according to a report from Hindustan Times, Naqvi has assured the Indian fans a special quota of tickets and a quick Visa dispatch.

“We will be keeping a special quota of tickets for Indian fans, and we will try to make the visa issuance policy brisk,” said Naqvi.

I don’t see Indian team cancel or postpone coming here: Pakistan

The tournament is scheduled to commence from February 19 and the final will be played on March 9.  Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi are the venues hosting the marquee event and PCB has proposed all India games to be held in Lahore to avoid potential security fiasco. Naqvi also urged the Indian team to take part in the tournament, rather abstaining from it.

It is worth noting that, India have not travelled to Pakistan in the aftermath of 2008 Mumbai terrorist attacks where the latter was held responsible for. They have not played a bilateral series since 2012-13 and have only met in the ICC events since.

“The Indian team should come. I don’t see them cancel or postpone coming here, and we are confident we will host all the teams in the Champions Trophy in Pakistan,” Naqvi added.
