Pat Cummins acknowledged Jasprit Bumrah's bowling prowess ahead of India's upcoming tour of Australia, which will decide the fate of the coveted Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. India reclaimed the silverware back in 2017 and have managed to hold onto it with wins against the Aussies both home and away.
Bumrah has been one of the most impactful players for India in their recent meeting with Australia. Skipper Pat Cummins reckons that if his team can keep the star Indian pacer quiet during the five-match series, it will go a long way in helping them regain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Besides, he did not shy from admitting that he was a big fan of Bumrah.
"I'm a big fan of Bumrah. I think he's a fantastic bowler. Hopefully, if we can keep him quiet, that is going to go a long way to winning the series," said Cummins on the Star Sports Press Room.
"Alongside him, he has got some other guys who haven't played a lot over here in Australia (that) we haven't seen a lot of. We'll see how it goes," he added.

Australia will lean on memories of WTC final, ODI World Cup final wins versus India
Notably, Team India managed to win on their last two trips to Australia in 2018/19 and 2020/21, respectively. While that will serve as a huge motivation for India, Cummins is drawing inspiration from their wins last year against Rohit Sharma's side in the World Test Championship and ODI World Cup finals.

"The last two series were a long time ago. We have got over it. I've never played alongside him (Rohit Sharma), so I don't know him super well. But it has looked like they (Indian team) are pretty organised, pretty well-planned," the 31-year-old added.
"Fortunately, over the last few years, we've had some success in the World Test Championship final and (in) a different format for the ODI World Cup. We'll be trying to lean on those memories. As I'm sure they're trying to remember some of the previous series over here as well," Cummins concluded.
