The Australian cricket team is a dominant force in both men's and women's cricket. While the men's team have never lost the Ashes since 2015, the coveted urn was taken away from the women's team for the last time in 2013-2014.

In 2021-2022, Australia won the women's Ashes by a convincing margin of 12-4 on points, on their home soil. England will hope to end Australia's recent dominance in the much-awaited series. The much-anticipated series is already underway with the one-off Test, being played in Nottingham. This will be a five-day encounter and not the usual four-day contests that fans are used to seeing in Test matches involving female cricketers.

One of the most important members of the Australian set-up is the experienced Ellyse Perry. The all-rounder has earned many accolades, so far in her illustrious career. She has added yet another feather to her cap as she has become the first player to feature in a record ten Women's Ashes series. Perry is the only player to achieve this incredible feat.

Since making her international debut in 2007, Perry has so far played 10 Tests, 131 ODIs, and 139 T20Is in her career.

Ellyse Perry on her future plans

Earlier this month, Perry gave an insight into her journey towards recovery and attaining full fitness. The 32-year-old spoke about how she would love to play as long as she has the ability to add value to the team.

“My body, in this last little bit, has felt really great. I had a patch there fighting against things, so I’ve been working hard to get back to that and am having a nice run at it. I feel really free from that point of view. It’s been a fun process. I’d love to still be involved as long as people like me around. It’s restrictive to think you can play for ‘x’ many years. But it might be a case that I can wake up tomorrow and it might not be the same for me,” Perry was quoted as saying by AAP.
