The 2025 edition of the Women's Premier League is scheduled to commence on Friday, February 14. The five sides - Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women, Gujarat Giants Women, Mumbai Indians Women, UP Warriorz Women, and Delhi Capitals Women - will be competing for the ultimate prize.
RCB are coming into this highly-anticipated tournament as the defending champions. After a poor first season, they came back strongly to win the coveted WPL in 2024. They overcame DC by an eight-wicket margin to achieve silverware.
All of the five franchises made some interesting picks at the auction, which was held in December last year. With all the squads brimmed with a mix of talented youngsters and seasoned individuals, the upcoming season is anticipated to be a cracker of a spectacle. The season will commence with the Titans taking on the Bengaluru-based franchise.
WPL 2025 Venues
There are four venues which will host games comprising the third edition of the WPL - Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara, and M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
WPL 2025 Format
A total of 20 group-stage matches are set to be played. The five teams will play against each other twice during the league phase. The side which tops the points table will head straightaway to the final, while the teams finishing second and third will compete in the Eliminator to secure their place in the final.
