This time, he was caught trying to enter the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, during the fifth match of the ICC ODI Cricket World Cup 2023 between India and Australia. In 2021, shortly after Rohit Sharma was dismissed during the India vs England Test match, a person known as 'Jarvo 69' made a bizarre appearance from the stands near the sight screen. This individual was wearing cricket pads, a blue helmet, and a surgical face mask. Someone from the crowd even threw a cricket bat onto the field as he entered and made his way to the pitch, apparently to take his turn at batting. However, security personnel quickly intervened and removed him from the Headingley premises.
This was not the first time 'Jarvo' had caused such disruptions. Earlier, he had managed to enter the Lord's cricket ground during the second Test between India and England on Day 4. On that occasion, he was seen pretending to set the field for the Indian team, which left spectators and viewers amused.
Who is Jarvo 'The Pitch invader' and Team India's fan?
'Jarvo,' whose real name is Daniel Jarvis, describes himself as a comedian, filmmaker, and prankster on his 'X' bio. He also operates a YouTube channel called, 'bmwjarvo.' These pitch invasions garnered him a significant following on social media. Looks like his unwavering love for the Indian team still continues to prevail in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023.
It is worth noting that 'Jarvo' has a history of invading cricket pitches and causing disruptions. In one instance, he even managed to set up a tent on the cricket field during an ongoing match, prompting security to quickly remove him from the grounds.
