WPL 2023: List of all five captains and coaches
Two Indians and three Australians have been named to captain five franchises in the inaugural season.

Delhi Capitals named Meg Lanning as their captain for the inaugural season of Women's Premier League 2023 on Wednesday (March 1). They were the last team to announce their captain for the upcoming tournament starting March 4 in Mumbai and now all five teams are ready for the much-awaited league.
Royal Challengers Bangalore were the first to announce their captain and it was no surprise for the fans. Smriti Mandhana was the most expensive buy in the WPL auction last month and will be leading the popular Bangalore-based franchise.
UP Warriorz surprised everyone with the appointment of Alyssa Healy as captain ahead of local-born Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma. However, the latter was later appointed as vice-captain for the inaugural season.
Gujarat Giants named star Australian batter Beth Mooney as captain while Mumbai Indians named Indian national team leader Harmanpreet Kaur as their skipper.
UP Warriorz appointed Jon Lewis as their head coach, while RCB appointed incumbent White Ferns' head coach Ben Sawyer. MI have Charlotte Edwards as their head coach while Gujarat Giants will be headed by Rachael Haynes. DC will have the services of Jonathan Batty as their head coach.

Royal Challengers Bangalore also appointed Malolan Rangarajan as their assistant coach and Head of Scouting (for both WPL & IPL). RX Murali and former Indian cricketer Vanitha VR have been appointed as batting and fielding coaches respectively.
Mumbai Indians’ staff comprises Jhulan Goswami as their mentor and bowling coach while Devieka Palshikar as batting coach, and Lydia Greenway as their fielding coach. UP Warriorz have appointed Arjuna awardee Anju Jain as assistant coach to Jon Lewis, while former Australian star Ashley Noffke will assist the Lucknow-based franchise as their bowling coach.
The four-time World Cup champion Lisa Sthalekar will be mentoring the Lucknow-based franchise for the first season.
Delhi Capitals have named Hemlata Kala and Lisa Keightley as the team’s assistant head coaches while Biju George will be the team’s fielding coach. Gujarat Giants have appointed Tushar Arothe as the batting coach and Nooshin Al Khadeer as a bowling coach while Gavan Twinning will be their fielding coach for WPL 2023 season.
