UP Warriorz made a couple of changes to their Playing XI in their clash against Gujarat Giants Women in Match 15 of the Women's Premier League 2025 at the Ekana International Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. Notably, the game between the two sides will be the first of the four games to be played at the venue this season.

Emerging Australian top-order batter, Georgia Voll, was presented her maiden WPL cap. Gouher Sultana also was also named as the other player coming in by Deepti Sharma at the toss. Among the players missing out were Tahlia McGrath and Saima Thakor.

McGrath is understood to have made way for Voll. The Australian all-rounder has not been at her best this edition. In the 11.5 overs bowled by her, she has conceded 97 runs while securing only a couple of wickets. She has not had much to show as far as her form with the bat is concerned. In the five innings (37 deliveries) she has faced, McGrath has only been able to score 26 runs for UP-W.

"We are going to bowl. Feel like there will be help for bowlers early on. Feels good and we got a good welcome. It's a different kind of motivation to play at home. We had a couple of net sessions and our preparation has been good. Two changes - McGrath and Saima out. Voll and Gouher are playing," shared Deepti at the toss.

GG-W's skipper, Ashleigh Gardner, announced no changes to the side. GG-W are coming on the back of a six-wicket victory against Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women.

"Looks like a nice batting track tonight. Expecting a high-scoring game. You've got to be able to adapt quickly (to conditions). Hopefully we can do that as a batting unit and put up a good score. Anything 170-plus is what we're going to be striving for. No changes in the team," said Gardner.
