WTC 2023-25 Points Table: Here's a look at latest standings after Pakistan’s dominating win against England in Rawalpindi
Pakistan defeated England by nine wickets in the third Test in Rawalpindi.
Pakistan managed to win the Test series at home after over three years as they beat England in the third Test in Rawalpindi by nine wickets on October 26. As they beat the touring England by 2-1, there is a nominal change in the World Test Championship 2023-25 points table. They have gone one step further, from the eighth spot to the seventh with four wins in 10 Tests and six losses. It is worth noting that, Pakistan last won a Test series against England in 2015 and at home in 2005.
On the other hand, England have slipped from the fifth position to sixth with nine victories in 19 games, nine losses and one draw. Moreover, their points percentage has dropped from 43.06 percent to 40.79 percent. On the other hand, Pakistan’s points percentage is 33.33 percent. Although the changes are nominal, this will neither benefit Pakistan, nor England in reaching the finals of the WTC 2025.

The win comes as a welcome change for Pakistan cricket which was grappling with a series of events in world events and games played at home. They were criticised after they lost the series to Bangladesh by 0-2. The barrage of criticism was intensified when the first Test against England culminated in a defeat by an innings and 47 runs. However, the Shan Masood-led side used the spin-friendly surface and struck hard on England’s weak point, which has been spin.

“London buses, they come together. The first Test win came after a long time, now the series win. This means a lot for me, the players, the coaches and the management - they came through a lot. The character says a lot, this is a special moment and you can't take this off the team,” said Masood after the series win.
