Bhupendra Jaiswal, father of Yashasvi Jaiswal, attributed his son's meteoric rise to the mentorship of Zubin Bharucha, the performance director of Rajasthan Royals. Bhupendra commended Bharucha for personally overseeing his son's training ahead of the Indian Premier League. Jaiswal's outstanding performance in the IPL 2023 catapulted him into the national spotlight, which earned him a spot in the Indian Test team. His debut was marked by a century, and his skillset only soared from there.
During the Rajkot Test, the southpaw showcased his remarkable talent with a commanding double-century in the second innings, that marked his second consecutive double hundred in Test cricket. His partnership with Sarfaraz Khan, which yielded 172 runs off just 158 balls, was hailed as a testament to their burgeoning talent. Jaiswal and Sarfaraz's stellar performances have injected fresh vigour into the Indian cricket scene, promising a bright future for the nation's cricketing landscape.
"Along with Yashasvi, his coach Zubin Bharucha has worked a lot. He used to go himself and personally train him. Barucha used to keep on grinding Yashasvi till he fell on the ground. It is because of him that Yashasvi has reached these heights. The entire family is happy and is distributing sweets," Jaiswal's father said as quoted by India Today.

Alastair Cook heaps praises on Jaiswal’s six hitting ability
Former England captain, Alastair Cook, lauded Jaiswal, as he drew an amusing parallel between their Test careers. Cook humorously noted that the 22-year-old's phenomenal innings in the Rajkot Test saw him smash more sixes than Cook managed throughout his entire Test career. On the electrifying Day 4 of the 3rd Test against England, the India opener blazed his way to 214 runs, and embellished his innings with an astonishing 12 sixes and 14 fours.
"Yashasvi Jaiswal hit more sixes in an innings than I did in my entire career," said cook.
