The Indian team put in a magnificent performance in their recently concluded five-game T20I series against Zimbabwe. After losing the first T20I of the series, India made a remarkable comeback, winning their next four matches. There were several players who put in excellent performances across the five-game series.

The players’ performances have, in turn, helped them climb the ICC T20I rankings. India openers Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal, who were the driving factors in India’s series win, made big leaps in the batter rankings.

Yashasvi Jaiswal jumped four places and has moved to the sixth spot in the ICC T20I batter rankings. Jaiswal was exceptional for India in the series, with 141 runs to his name. Furthermore, the captain of the series, Shubman Gill, was the highest run getter for the series.

Gill jumped a whopping 36 spots to 37th as a result of his 170 runs scored in five innings. It is also worth noting that Gill is now the fourth best player from India in the T20I rankings, as he trails behind Suryakumar (second), Jaiswal (sixth), and Ruturaj Gaikwad (eighth).

ICC T20I bowler rankings experience shifts as well

Zimbabwe pacer Blessing Muzarabani gained 11 places to move to 44th overall on the list after his six wickets against India. All-rounder Washington Sundar moved up 36 spots to 46th, with Mukesh Kumar moving up 21 spots to 73rd place.

Zimbabwe skipper Sikandar Raza moved to third place in the ICC T20I all-rounder rankings. On the other hand, the Test rankings saw some shifts as well. As England won their first Test of the series against the West Indies, Harry Brook gained three places to move to seventh spot, with Zak Crawley moving in to 13th. Furthermore, Ollie Pope jumped up three spots and now sits in 29th place in the Test batter rankings.
