You need to be cool and calm without thinking too much and just focus on your cricket: Litton Das

After nine years of representing their country in cricket, the last scenario you'd anticipate for a player is to not be a guaranteed starter for their team. However, such is the situation for wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das, despite his considerable experience of representing Bangladesh in 80 matches in the shortest format, still finds himself unassured of a place in the XI.

During the recently concluded T20I series against Zimbabwe on home soil, Litton's performances, tallying 1 (3), 23 (25), and 12 (15), resulted in his omission from the team for the remaining matches.

His most recent performance in batting garnered attention as he persistently tried to scoop the Zimbabwean speedster, Blessing Muzarabani, three times consecutively, leading to him eventually dragging the ball onto the stumps in the fourth over of the match.

As reported by the Bangladesh Cricket Board's official Facebook page on May 21, 2024, Litton stated that excessive contemplation during difficult periods was fruitless and would only serves to cloud his thinking process. He stressed that the only feasible course of action was the dedication to hardwork and the value placed on practice sessions. Furthermore, he advised maintaining composure, staying relaxed, and avoiding excessive thoughts, with the sole focus on cricket.

"I don't think there is anything to overthink during bad times because you are going through a bad patch, and the more you overthink, it will only be bad for you. The only option left to you is how hard you are working, and how much importance you are giving to practice. I think during bad times, you need to be cool and calm without thinking too much and just focus on your cricket," said Litton, as quoted by BCB's official Facebook page.
