'You were humiliated at the T20 World Cup. Made a mockery of Pakistan cricket' - Kamran Akmal calls out players, management after Bangladesh defeat
Bangladesh created history as they defeated Pakistan for the first time in Test cricket in Rawalpindi on Sunday, August 25.
Kamran Akmal joined other former Pakistani cricketers like Shahid Afridi and Ahmed Shehzad in criticising the Pakistan players and management after their embarrassing 10-wicket defeat to Bangladesh in the first Test in Rawalpindi on Sunday, August 25.
Before the first Test, Bangladesh had faced Pakistan on 13 occasions in the red-ball arena. They had lost 12 matches and drawn one. However, powered by Mushfiqur Rahim's herculean 191 in the first innings, the Bangla Tigers scripted history to beat Pakistan for the first time in Test cricket.

After the shambolic result for Shan Masood's men, Akmal did not mince his words as he lashed out at the players and management for bringing shame to the nation with their insipid performances in the last five years. The former wicketkeeper-batter also pointed out their inability to correct their past mistakes.
"Ye to Rizwan ne 50 kiya aur scoreboard chalaya warna innings se haarte. Ye itni buri haar hai ki bhooli nahi jaegi. Aap kisi ka bura sochoge to aapke saath bhi bura hi hoga. Aapne pichle 5 saalon se kuch nahi seekha. Aap Zimbabwe se haar gaye. Pichle saal aap Asia Cup se baahar ho gaye th. Abhi aap itna zaleel hue hain world cup me, Pakistan cricket ka mazaak ban chuka hai globally. (Had Rizwan not scored a 50 and ran the scoreboard, you've would've lost by an innings. You haven't learned anything in the last 5 years. You lost to Zimbabwe. Last year, you were eliminated from Asia Cup. You were humiliated at the T20 World Cup. Made a complete mockery of Pakistan cricket)," Akmal said on his YouTube channel.
Bangladesh basically exposed Pakistan cricket: Kamran Akmal
Akmal lauded the Bangladesh batters for getting their team into a position of strength, a commanding lead of 117 runs after their bowlers conceded 448 in the first innings. The cricketer-turned-expert also questioned Pakistan's approach to the game and lack of seriousness among the players.
"It was a difficult time for Bangladesh but their batters scored runs. They had to save the Test, and they not only did that but also won the game. They basically exposed Pakistan cricket. And our players were batting like club cricketers. Sorry, not even club cricketers play like this. The approach was poor. Players are having a laugh in the dressing room, there is no seriousness because they know nobody will ask anything. It seems that you are playing for fun," Akmal stated.

After dismissing Pakistan for 146 on Day 5, Bangladesh openers helped their team chase down a meagre 30-run target in just 6.3 overs. The hosts will look to fight back strongly in the second Test, which begins on Friday, August 30, in Rawalpindi.
