'You've got to keep moving' - Tazmin Brits pledges to participate in T20 World Cup despite health setback in family

South Africa Women’s star batter Tazmin Brits is going through a rough patch in her personal life. The 33-year-old’s mother was detected with breast cancer as the former was bracing up for the crucial T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates. Amidst personal challenges, the South Africa opener has pledged to participate in the event and wants to keep ‘moving’.
Brits has been a fighter herself. Once a javelin thrower, she met with a car accident which changed the course of her life. She switched her career to cricket and the right-handed batter is more than thankful for the help she received from the sport to overcome the shortcomings.

"My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer just two weeks ago. Struggle never ends. But now I know how to handle it. And now I know that you've got to keep moving. If you stand still, the world will swallow you in. You've got to keep moving,” Brits said as quoted by the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup official website.
World Cup win can definitely change our nation: Brits
The upcoming Women's T20 World Cup will commence on October 3, marking the ninth edition of the mega event. South Africa have never won a T20 World Cup title. Though they reached the final of the previous edition, they were beaten by Australia. Brits shedding light on her team’s prospects of lifting the trophy, vowed to get the trophy inked if Proteas managed to win the World Cup.

"We'd better win because I can't walk around with a half a tattoo. For our country, winning the World Cup will be a massive thing. I actually get a bit of goosebumps if I think about it. It can definitely change our nation,” she added.
