Former Team India's world champion and southpaw Yuvraj Singh has issued two legal notices to Delhi-based real estate firms claiming arbitrary clauses in relation to privacy rights violations through unfair promotional activities for projects conducted by the said firms.

Moreover, Singh has also claimed that the delivery of the projects in terms of possession as assured by these firms was also not fulfilled in due time. Notably, the former cricket star had booked a dwelling unit in Delhi's Hauz Khas region back in 2020. The law firm by the name of Rizwan Law Associates representing Yuvraj Singh served notice with the claim of damages caused due to project delay and has also sought a Letter of Possession if there is no sufficient reason to hold the possession or any extension required for completion of the said project.

Besides, it has also come to light that Singh was assured of a premium quality apartment but the real estate failed to do so by allotting an apartment of inferior quality of a much lower grade. Notably, this matter belonged to M/S Uppal Housing Private Limited who are one of the noticees mentioned in the legal notices. Another firm named M/S Brilliant Etoile Private Limited has been served the second notice for blatantly violating Intellectual Property rights along with infringement of privacy rights.

"That this dispute principally concerns the violation of Intellectual Property Rights with respect to the Personality Rights and misuse of Brand Value of the Celebrity i.e., My Client in contravention to the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding dated 24.11.2020, however, My Client reserves the right to add the detailed instances and elaborate in further specificity in the Statement of Claim," the second notice stated as per The TelegraphIndia.

Memorandum of Understanding expired in November last year

It is vital to point out that in this regard an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) was duly signed by the concerned parties about the promotion and endorsement of projects undertaken by the above-mentioned real estate firm. However, the MoU expired last year on November 23. Despite that, the firm continued to use Yuvraj Singh's name through billboard advertisements along with his images used at the project site.
