Almost any person linked to international cricket, be it in the capacity of an ardent supporter or an ex-player, would opt for at least one of MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli, when asked who their first three picks for an XI would be. However, former Indian cricketer, Yuvraj Singh, had other ideas.

During a recent conversation, the Player of the Tournament of the 2011 Cricket World Cup was asked the first three players which came to his mind while building a curated XI of his own. Yuvraj had only one Indian on the list.

“If you were to pick the first three players who would make an XI, whom would they be?,” asked the interviewer working at Sportskeeda.

“Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers, and Jasprit Bumrah,” remarked Yuvraj.

Interestingly, Gayle did not reckon either Dhoni, Rohit, or Virat to fit in the list. Instead, he went along with two of his teammates at the Royal Challengers Bengaluru as well as the pace-bowling spearhead of the Indian team. Yuvraj played alongside Bumrah as well, with a notable amount of time being spent with him during his sole season with the Mumbai Indians in 2019, Yuvraj's last in the marquee league.
