Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav can play together for India, reckons Mohammad Kaif

Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav have been a formidable duo of spinners for team India in the past. Nicknamed ‘KulCha’, both the spinners have given the Indian team crucial breakthroughs on multiple occasions. In recent times, however, both players have been experiencing a slump of sorts.

Former Indian cricketer, Mohammad Kaif recently talked about the inclusion of both Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav in the Indian squad for better results. It is to be noted that both the spinners were included for the second T20I that India played against New Zealand in Lucknow.

Chahal and Yadav, both put out good performances against the Black Caps in the second T20I. Both spinners picked up a wicket each and were instrumental in holding back the Black Caps set an unachievable target.

Kaif also mentioned that the inclusion of Washington Sundar provides for more flexibility for the selectors to experiment with the bowling lineup. The inclusion of Washington Sundar at number 7 gives the team a much needed boost, both in the bowling and the batting lineup.

Talking about it at the Star Sports show 'Match Point', Kaif said, "Absolutely, you can do three and three. It is definitely on because they are quality bowlers. Kuldeep and Chahal bring with them a lot of experience. The guy who comes to bat at No. 7 is an all-rounder."

"With Washington Sundar being there, you can play around because you have got a batter at No. 7. You need batting till No. 7 only in T20 cricket because the No. 8 does not get to bat. So you have a solid batter at No. 7," he further added.

It will be exciting to see the playing combination the skipper Hardik Pandya goes with in the third and final T20I at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
