Zimbabwe include seven uncapped players in squad for upcoming Test series against Afghanistan
Afghanistan have also added seven uncapped players to their squad.
With Zimbabwe well engaged in an ODI series with Afghanistan, the side is also scheduled to play two Tests as well. The first Test of the series will be played at the Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo from December 26. Furthermore, the second Test will kick off from January 2 at the same venue.
Ahead of the Test series, Zimbabwe Cricket took centre stage and announced their squad. Much to everyone’s surprise, Zimbabwe included seven uncapped players for their upcoming historic Boxing Day and New Year's Tests against Afghanistan.
The selection committee made the decision to leave out seven players from the squad who were a part of the one-off Test against Ireland in July. It is also worth noting that the two-match Test series marked the first Boxing Day Test in Zimbabwe since 1996 and their first home New Year's Test in their history.
