The cricketing world was left stunned when the Zimbabwe team defeated a full strength Australian team in their own backyard. No one saw it coming but the win definitely proves Zimbabwe’s growth in ODI cricket in the recent past. Following their victory, the Zimbabwean players celebrated in style in the team bus and that has caught a lot of attention on social media.

Sikandar Raza, who’s been in terrific form lately, was spotted dancing and singing with few of his teammates in the bus. The players were chanting the song ‘Amai vaRona’, a song that the Castle Corner (official fans group of the Zimbabwean cricket team) made famous.

“Castle Corner, see what you've done? But who can blame us! Thanks for the support and inspiration, home or away,” the caption read of the video posted on Twitter from the official team handle.

Zimbabwe defeated Australia by three wickets to record their first win Down Under

History was made on Saturday (3rd of September) when Zimbabwe defeated Australia by three wickets in Australia for the first time in history. Batting first, the Aussies were restricted to 141 runs only as Ryan Burl picked up a five-wicket haul in the match. David Warner was the star performer from the Australian team as he scored 94 runs to help his team reach a respectable total.

Zimbabwe were under pressure for sometime but managed to pull off a historic win. The captain Regis Chakabva’s knock of unbeaten 37 runs proved really important for Zimbabwe as they defeated one of the powerhouses of world cricket.

“Zimbabwe were great with the ball, had us in trouble. You never take things for granted because in international cricket, you can get beaten on any given day. They showed it today,” said the Australian captain Aaron Finch after their loss at the hands of Zimbabwe.

Even though the team lost the series by 1-2, there were a lot of positives for the team. They can look forward to building a strong core from here and give their best shot for a spot in the World Cup next year.
