Adam Griffith has been appointed Cricket Australia’s (CA) new National Pace Bowling Coach taking on responsibility for the development and preparation of pace bowlers for Australia’s men’s teams. A former first-class player with Tasmania and Australia A representative, Griffith joins CA from his current assistant coach role with Cricket Victoria. 

Griffith has extensive senior coaching and player development experience at an elite level including as Senior Assistant Coach of Western Australia and the Perth Scorchers, Tasmania’s Director of Coaching, Head Coach of the Tasmania Tigers and Hobart Hurricanes, and Assistant Coach with Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Indian Premier League. 

At the international level, Griffith has previously supported Australian men’s teams on bilateral tours in 2012 and 2016 and at the 2019 ICC World Cup in England.

Griffith will be based at CA’s National Cricket Centre in Brisbane where his responsibilities will include leading a national strategy to develop pace bowlers, overseeing the preparation of national pace bowlers, providing coaching support to the Australian men’s and Australia A men’s teams, and assisting with the development of pace bowling coaches.

“I’m delighted Adam will bring his extensive experience to Cricket Australia as National Pace Bowling Coach and become an important part of our coaching set up," Andrew McDonald, Head Coach, Australian Men’s Cricket Team said: 

“Adam’s expertise across all formats will be invaluable in the preparation of pace bowlers for Australia’s national men’s teams," he concluded.
