New Delhi, August 15, 2024: As the Delhi Premier League T20 prepares for its much-anticipated inaugural edition, Central Delhi Kings' captain Yash Dhull believes the marquee competition will be an important platform for the players, with a possible IPL mega auction looming.

He noted, “With the domestic season just around the corner and a potential IPL Mega Auction on the horizon, this tournament is crucial.”

He added, “It will help senior players get into their groove and provide younger players with a platform to prove themselves and potentially break into the state teams as well.”

Dhull, who previously captained India’s U19 team, plays for Delhi Capitals in the IPL, and has also led the Delhi state team, is optimistic about Central Delhi Kings’ prospects. Reflecting on his squad’s composition, Dhull shared, “I think we have got it just right. We have a very good balance with the team, and it helps that most of us are familiar with each other and have played together before. The team bond is quite strong, and the morale is high.”

The young captain is not just focused on team dynamics but is also brimming with excitement for the inaugural season. “I am thrilled for the tournament and so are all the players. This is the first edition, and we are all very eager to go out and express ourselves,” he added, highlighting the significance of the inaugural season.

Dhull also emphasized his responsibilities as a captain, stating, “As a captain, my role is to give 100% towards winning matches, but also to guide the players and help them go out and play their best cricket.” His commitment to both team success and individual player development underscores his leadership approach.

Expressing his gratitude to the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) for bringing the DPL T20 to life, Dhull said, “I am grateful to DDCA for making this competition a reality. Everybody knows that Delhi has a lot of cricketing talent, and I feel the whole country will be watching the DPL T20,” he said, acknowledging the league’s potential to showcase the region's cricketing depth.

The Central Delhi Kings will kick off their campaign against the East Delhi Riders on August 18.
