Ellyse Perry gains big in ICC Women's T20I Player Rankings

Australia star Ellyse Perry has made notable progress in the ICC Women’s T20I Batting Rankings after a string of steady scores in league matches of the ongoing ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 in the United Arab Emirates.

Perry has gained six places to reach joint-16th position with a career-best 597 rating points after scoring 30 against Pakistan, 22 not out against New Zealand and 32 against India as her team made the semifinals by topping Group A. Perry’s career-best batting ranking in this format is 14th position that she last held in February 2020.

Her team-mate Phoebe Litchfield has reached a career-best 30th position after her nine-ball 15 not out against India in Sharjah contributed in a nine-run victory for the three-time defending champions.

Captains Alyssa Healy of Australia, Harmanpreet Kaur of India and Nigar Sultana of Bangladesh are among the others to move up the batting rankings even as England’s left-arm spinner Sophie Ecclestone has consolidated her position at the top of the bowling rankings after taking two for 13 against Scotland.

Bowlers from different teams made notable gains in the bowling rankings with Australia’s Annabel Sutherland attaining a career-best 11^th position after reaching 700 rating points for the first time.

India’s Deepti Sharma and Renuka Thakur have moved up to take joint-third position while Australia pacer Megan Schutt and South Africa spinner Nonkululeko Mlaba have also made notable progress towards the top.
