Colombo Strikers Owner Sagar Khanna Calls Out Haters On Shadab Khan’s Hat Trick Record and Asks Fans To Support Players
At the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy, Sri Lanka, Colombo Strikers have resumed their journey starting July 2nd in their conquest to achieve the coveted Lanka Premier League Trophy. In the fifth season, the strikers have garnered applause for cementing historical performances through their bowling display and found heroes in the form of Dunith Wellalage & Shadab Khan (Took the first hat-trick of his career).
Now adding to the list of notable talents in batting this season, the performance of Lankan Player Sadeera Samarawickrama has also caught the attention of cricket enthusiasts and fans.
Sharing a bit about how he beat the Kandy Falcons in the first ball of the match, Sadeera said, “I was backing myself in the game and I was out there to have a positive batting day. I was not even trying to look at the scoreboard and was expressing myself through my performance.”
Adding more on the experience of keeping for the national team, Sadeera added, “I have a lot of experience in keeping. I used to field for my national team as well, but I also enjoy the process of keeping and hitting the ball. I do want to carry on pursuing my own interests, so yeah.”
Speaking on the challenge of performing at the Kandy Falcons match, Sadeera shares, “The wicket was probably good at the time. Although we had already lost two wickets, the wicket was real. I simply batted, and the other batters did a fantastic job in their strike, which helped us win the game.”

Despite the fact that Colombo Strikers first game against Kandy Falcons had been a victorious return. The Strikers second-match loss to the Galle Titans by a seven-run margin was also addressed.

Now with Shadab’s Hat-Trick, I feel all the haters have found their response.”
Talking on the emotions that runs through the squad of giving their best in each game, Sagar Khanna shared, “I have never been so proud of the team who are giving their all on the field. We do understand the competition we are up against, and we can only try and never give up so early in our stride to reach the finals. Now with Shadab’s impressive performance, we hope our fans do support all our players.”
Colombo Strikes face Falcons, Thunders next
The Colombo Strikers are set to face off against the Kandy Falcons and Dambulla Thunders in the highly anticipated Lanka Premier League match on July 6th and 7th.
