Match 6 of the Super Four stage of the ongoing Asia Cup 2023 will feature a clash between India (IND) and Bangladesh (BAN) at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo, on Friday, September 15.

Bangladesh are out of contention for the summit clash in the ongoing Asia Cup 2023, while India look to build momentum for the final. India have been in excellent form, while Bangladesh have a poor record against India at neutral venues. India's top order has been scoring runs, and their bowlers are in good form. Bangladesh hope to end the tournament on a high and will rely on their top order and bowling attack to challenge India.

Pitch and conditions:

The surface at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium has been one that is preferred by the batters. However, patience is the key on such a pitch, as the batters will look to get themselves in the middle before playing strokes freely. Hence, posting a big total on the cards cannot be ruled out. Therefore, opting to bat first could prove to be an optimal decision at this venue.

Probable Playing XI for IND vs BAN:

India

Team India are likely to stick with the same playing XI for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023 match unless they want to give Shreyas Iyer a chance to get some match practice before the World Cup. However, his fitness still remains a mystery. Meanwhile, if the pitch favours the spinners, Axar Patel is expected to be included in the playing 11.

Probable Playing XI: Rohit Sharma (C), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Ishan Kishan (wk), Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj

Bangladesh

Considering that Bangladesh are almost out of the tournament and have no chance of making it to the finals, they might consider giving opportunities to other players so that they can gain match practice before the upcoming World Cup in 2023.

Probable Playing XI: Mohammad Naim, Litton Das, Shakib Al Hasan (c), Towhid Hridoy, Shamim Hossain, Mushfiqur Rahim (wk), Afif Hossain, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, Hasan Mahmud
