BAN vs IND Head-to-Head, Playing XI, Preview, Where to Watch on TV, Online, and Live Streaming Details for 2nd Test
India, led by stand-in skipper KL Rahul, lead the series 1-0.
Bangladesh and India are set to lock horns in the second Test match of the series, and the final game of the tour, at the Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on December 22. After a disappointing 2-1 defeat in the ODI series, India started off the Test series on a high note by winning the first game by a margin of 188 runs.
Having won the first game, India will look to seal the series 2-0 with an aim to strengthen their chances of making it to the World Test Championship Finals. Bangladesh are not in the race anymore and are placed at the bottom of the rankings chart, but they can pose a threat to India’s successful run if they manage to win the upcoming game.
Bangladesh have never won a Test match against India, either at home or in away games. The two sides have locked horns 12 times, and with two games ending in a draw, India won the remaining 10. KL Rahul, the stand-in skipper for India, would be hoping to continue the winning momentum and extend the streak to 11-0.
In the previous game, Cheteshwar Pujara and Shubman Gill showed brilliant composure on the field and got to their respective centuries, which helped India get a massive lead over the hosts. In reply, Indian bowlers Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj, and Axar Patel put up defining performances, which helped them restrict Bangladesh from getting anywhere near the target.
Pitch and Conditions
The match will be played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. Of the 23 Tests played here, 12 have been won by teams batting first. The average first-innings score at this stadium is 341, and both batters and bowlers will receive equal assistance at this surface.
