India are set to square off against Australia in a three-match T20I series at home and the first game will be played at the IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali. The series will serve as a good preparation for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022 next month.

One of the areas that India would look to address is their combination which has been affected by the absence of Ravindra Jadeja. A decision on Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik will have to be taken during the course of the series. Also, with the return of Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel, the bowling attack looks a lot more stronger.

On the other hand, Australia will miss the services of David Warner, who has been rested whereas Marcus Stoinis, Mitchell Starc and Mitchell Marsh have missed out on the tour due to low-level injuries. Skipper Aaron Finch has had a long rough patch in international cricket, and he needs to pull up his socks in the upcoming series.

Pitch and Conditions

The IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali is a belter of a pitch to bat on and it is going to difficult for the bowlers to defend runs at the venue. The skipper winning the toss will look to chase as due can play a decisive factor.

Playing Combinations for IND vs AUS

Australia

With David Warner not being available, Australia are likely to go in with the opening pair of Aaron Finch and Josh Inglis throughout the series. Tim David is likely to make his debut at some stage during the series if not in the first game. Cameron Green will slot into the middle order in place of injured Mitchell Marsh and Marcus Stoinis. Sean Abbott had a good ODI series against New Zealand and he might get the opportunity as the third seamer.

Predicted XI:

Aaron Finch (c), Josh Inglis, Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Tim David, Cameron Green, Matthew Wade (wk), Sean Abbott, Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Adam Zampa

India

India are expected to try out their best combination against Australia. If Hardik Pandya plays as the sixth bowling option then Rishabh Pant could be the one to miss out. Axar Patel and Harshal Patel can tonk the ball down the order while Jasprit Bumrah will come into the playing XI straightaway after missing the Asia Cup 2022.

Predicted XI:

KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma (c), Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Axar Patel, Harshal Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, Yuzvendra Chahal
