India and Hong Kong will lock horns against each other in Match 4 of Asia Cup 2022 at the Dubai International Stadium on August 31. The men in blue picked up a comprehensive victory against Pakistan in their previous game and will seal a place in the super four stages if they managed to win this game.

Hardik Pandya’s all-around efforts helped India chase down the total set by Pakistan. Bhuvneshwar Kumar showed his experience with the ball by picking up a four-wicket haul and it was a collective performance from the Indian side.

On the other hand, Hong Kong will have a big Test coming up and it won’t be easy for them to face a highly competitive Indian side. The Nizakat Khan-led side had a terrific qualifier tournament where they won all three games. Ehsan Khan has been brilliant with his spin bowling and he could make a difference against the Indian batting lineup.

Pitch Conditions

The Dubai International Stadium has hosted two games so far in the tournament and both games have been won by the team batting second. With the extreme temperatures at the venue, it will be important for the team batting first to post a total above 160. The skipper winning the toss will be looking to bowl first on the wicket.

India

India is likely to stick with the same combination that played against Pakistan for the upcoming fixture against Hong Kong. The strategy of three fast bowlers with Hardik Pandya alongside the two spinners has worked well so far. Despite the poor start to the tournament, KL Rahul will get the nod still while Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav will be looking to make a half-century.
